Summer Heat Hours

During extreme heat conditions, Elk Grove Food Bank Services will close food distribution operations at 12:30 p.m. In order to safeguard the health of our employees and volunteers, we consider a forecast of over 105oF extreme heat. During the summer, please consider visiting the Food Bank for food distribution in the morning, or call 916-685-8453, for summer afternoon hours.

Food Insecure Seniors Served by the Elk Grove Food Bank Services

Over the past six years, the Elk Grove Food Bank has seen a sharp rise in the numbers of seniors, defined as persons 60 years and older, that it serves. In the past 16 months alone, the number of seniors seeking assistance from the Food Bank has more than doubled. Providing assistance to dramatically greater numbers of food insecure older adults, Elk Grove Food Bank has assumed an expanded role as part of the City of Elk Grove’s senior care infrastructure.
